Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel supports Shooting Stars benefit

Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel is delighted to have been a sponsor of the Shooting Stars Benefit, hosted by Samuel L Jackson. Taking place over two days, a host of celebrities from both Hollywood and the UK enjoyed a two-round competitive golf tournament at the famous Wentworth Club. Teams were led by actors and professional golfers including James and Oliver Phelps, Jesse Metcalfe, Jack Wagner, Michael Bolton, Samuel L Jackson, Jamie Bamber, James Anderson and Colin Montgomerie. The 3 day event started with a reception and dinner at Aspreys, and rounded off with the Closing Ball at the Royal Courts of Justice with a red carpet champagne reception, gala dinner and auction and a live performance by an international artist.

Three colleagues from Jumeirah London, Ian Richardson, acting GM Jumeirah Lowndes; Oliver Brown, Director of F&B and Clive Doble, Director of Sales, were chosen to form the Jumeirah team for the golfing part of the event, headed up by James Phelps of Harry Potter fame as their team captain.

For the Closing Ball, Simon Young and Andrew Freeman designed a menu that stayed true to the essence of the hotel’s food and beverage offering, focusing on the very best of seasonal produce. To start, a tian of plum tomato and basil with warm mozzarella fritters, the choice of a roast loin of Southdown lamb with butternut squash puree, Scottish girolles and spring roll of braised leg or Beetroot tortellini with roasted Mediterranean vegetables for main followed by Strawberry and Pistachio Fraiser or dark chocolate “black forest” delice. Andrew Freeman was at the event to ensure that the high standards of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower kitchen are maintained.
