Yazaki North America Grants DuPont Two Prestigious Environmental Awards

Top automotive supplier Yazaki North America (YNA) surprised the group from DuPont at its annual awards ceremony by honoring them with their inaugural “Best-in-Class Green Supplier of the Year” award, chosen from YNA’s top 118 suppliers.

The team had just accepted the raw-materials category award for “Green Supplier of the Year” and presented highlights of environmental and community achievements, when YNA President & CEO Dieter Ehrmanntraut announced DuPont captured the prestigious “Best-in-Class” award.

“Yazaki is a critical, winning global customer with exceptionally high standards,” said Alexa Dembek, who accepted the award in Detroit with Dawn Rittenhouse and Yazaki team representatives Marcia Bell and Melanie Kursinsky. “It’s an honor granted to DuPont for ‘walking the talk’ when it comes to setting and meeting sustainability goals and especially for the global customer team and Washington Works team, where many of the materials used by YNA are manufactured.”

This is the second consecutive year that DuPont earned the Green Supplier of the Year - Raw Materials Category.

The Green Suppliers of the Year program recognizes suppliers who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the environment through their manufacturing, production and delivery processes and have exceeded others in their effort to reduce their impact on the environment. Yazaki established this program in 2009 as the benchmark for all Yazaki companies and affiliates throughout the Americas region.
