For the second year in a row, Johnny R. Saadé Holdings sponsored the MENASART fair, the first International Contemporary Art fair dedicated to Middle-Eastern, North-African and Southeast-Asian Art.
The event took place at BIEL Beirut (Lebanon) from the 13th to 16th of July gathering more than 150 artists and Galleries from all around the world among which Lebanon, GCC and Arab countries, Malaysia, United Kingdom and France. Displayed over 5200m2, the 2011 edition attracted art collectors, lovers and visitors who discovered and met with the world’s most renowned artists and galleries such as Agial Art Gallery (Lebanon), Ayyam Gallery (Lebanon, Syria, Dubai) Dar Al Funoon (Kuwait) Richard Koh Fine Art (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Singapore) LAM Art Gallery (KSA) Galerie Christiane Peugeot (France), Janet Rady Fine Art (UK) and Galerie Janine Rubeiz (Lebanon). Considered as one of the most dynamic market for contemporary and modern art, the Middle East has grown by over 600% over the past four years and though still a relatively new market, the total sales turnover at auction is announced at more than $200,000,000 in the last three year. “Encouraging cultural events is only natural for Johnny R. Saadé Holdings. We aim at supporting cultural initiatives such as the MENASART Fair to uphold Beirut’s key role as a hub and new strategic center for contemporary art market for the Middle-East” said Karim Saade, General Manager of Johnny R.
