ACS, A Xerox Company, To Expand Education Services with Acquisition of ESM

WEBWIRE

DALLAS -- ACS, A Xerox Company (NYSE: XRX), is expanding its services in the higher-education market with the acquisition of Education Sales and Marketing, LLC (ESM), a leading contact center firm dedicated to school enrollment.

ESM’s ability to handle inquiry calls and provide student enrollment services will enable ACS to begin offering broader services to assist post-secondary schools in attracting and retaining the most-qualified students. This diversification will complement the services ACS currently provides to more than 700 colleges and universities, including managing almost nine million student loans worth more than $100 billion.

“Higher education needs assistance managing the complexities of the entire student lifecycle from enrollment to alumni relations,” said Kent Schnacker, group president of ACS’ financial services group. “We can provide the full spectrum of support so colleges and universities can focus on the classroom rather than the administrative tasks that can drain resources and divert staff.”

By diversifying its services, ACS expands its ability to assist institutions of higher education in attracting students, including: qualifying and retaining students; completing applications, scheduling campus visits and career counseling. ESM’s suite of services also include marketing services used by online education providers and counseling services that assist borrowers with implementing tailored repayment plans for their student loans.

“This acquisition will allow ESM to take the next step in its growth by offering our unique capabilities to Xerox’s client list,” said Rick Fort, the founder and chairman of ESM. “ACS’ financial aid services will dovetail nicely with our admission capabilities.”

ESM has three facilities located in Colorado, one location in Arlington, Virginia and about 165 home-based employees. ESM now has access to ACS’ proven call center capabilities that support more than 150 facilities around the world in more than 20 languages.
