Company momentum fuels new operations in the United Kingdom to service broadcast, programmer and service provider markets in EMEA

READING, England -- Elemental Technologies, the leading provider of video processing solutions that enable multi-screen content delivery, today announced the opening of its office in the United Kingdom. The international expansion of Elemental’s business is coupled with significant customer wins among leading media and entertainment companies. TF1 Group in France, WRN Broadcast in England, QVC in Italy and VMMa, (Flemish Media Company) in Belgium are all early adopters of Elemental’s breakthrough technologies.

Elemental’s new UK office, located just outside London in Reading, England, is headed by John Nemeth, director, EMEA. Nemeth brings a distinguished track record of successful sales and marketing in the EMEA region to his position at Elemental. Prior to joining the company, Nemeth was Sales Director at IBIS Limited and before that was Director of Sales at Omneon (now owned by Harmonic) during its high-growth years. The UK office provides sales, marketing and systems engineering service and support to Elemental’s growing customer base in Europe and manages its reseller channel throughout EMEA.

“WRN Broadcast invests in the best technology to provide our content to viewers on screens beyond the television set. We need video processing solutions that deliver the quality and ubiquity that our customers have come to expect,” said David Travis, Head of Engineering and Technology at WRN Broadcast. “And as our customers’ expectations continue to increase, we need video platforms like Elemental that can economically scale from the complex needs of today to the even more robust requirements sure to come in the future.”

Elemental customers in Europe use Elemental solutions for a wide range of adaptive bitrate applications. WRN Broadcast deployed Elemental Live to create 10 simultaneous streaming outputs from a live HD-SDI playout source. QVC uses Elemental Live to capture live outputs in three minute increments to create Adobe Flash assets for later use on the company’s website. VMMa, in conjunction with Telenet, plans to broadcast live sporting events using Elemental Live streams formatted for Microsoft Smooth Streaming. TF1 Group uses Elemental Live to create live streams for Adobe Flash, Apple HLS and Microsoft Smooth Streaming.

“Elemental is rapidly deploying its solutions across the video landscape in Europe to perfect the media experience,” said John Nemeth, Elemental director, EMEA. “The company’s incredible momentum in the streaming media market stems from our superior products, dedication to programmer and service provider customers and the strength of our channel partnerships.”

To mark the launch of its European operations, the Elemental UK Team will participate in the 2011 Diamond Cup Regatta July 17-19 in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Elemental will join crewmates from Alliants, Atom Systems, BSkyB, Hurst UK, and WRN Broadcast. The proceeds from this competitive event benefit The Outward Bound Trust, an educational charity that helps young people access outdoor adventure.
