Action Scuba Makes a Splash with Scuba Diving in Montreal

WEBWIRE

Montreal, Quebec (June 30, 2011) - Montrealers love water and now they have a new way to enjoy it: by trying scuba diving in their own neighbourhoods. Action Scuba, a 5 star PADI Instructor Development Centre based in Pointe Claire, is taking scuba diving on the road with their 2011 Dive Anywhere Discover Scuba Diving tour, running free introductory scuba sessions in local pools throughout the months of July and August. First stops for Action Scuba`s Discover Scuba Diving events: Senneville and Beacon Hill (Beaconsfield) pools in early July.

Organised in conjunction with community pool managers, Action Scuba`s expert instructors and divemasters will arrive at each pool with all necessary scuba diving equipment and give pool members a fun overview of basic scuba diving theory and then take them into the water in small groups for practical diving experience and for some underwater games. There will also be giveaways and prizes drawn for participants.

The skills and experience gained in the Discover Scuba Diving sessions can than be carried over into the Open Water certification program with Action Scuba if participants decide to continue on and become scuba divers.

“At Action Scuba we`re passionate about scuba diving and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the enjoyment on a new student’s face when they first learn to breathe underwater with our help,” says Gary Davis, owner of Action Scuba and a PADI Master Instructor. “We are running these sessions because we want more people to discover the wonders of this safe and enjoyable sport, and would be thrilled if someday they became new diving buddies for us to blow bubbles with. We are also deeply committed to the environment, and we hope that by sharing this experience with the community we can give people a new way to appreciate all of the underwater life our planet has to offer.”

Scuba diving is a relaxing and fun activity for anyone of reasonable health over the age of 9 and is enjoyed by over 1 million people worldwide. And although the tropical waters of the Caribbean often beckon water enthusiasts, travellers who learn to dive at home in Montreal before heading down south usually find themselves better prepared and more at ease once they reach the open seas.

Pool managers or community leaders interested in having the Action Scuba Discover Scuba Diving 2011 Summer Tour stop by their pool should contact the dive shop at 514-697-8878 to discuss possible dates.
