Team DuPont Shifts into High Gear at Pocono

WEBWIRE

In Sunday’s ENERGY 500, Jeff Gordon and Team DuPont were looking for the right shift -- in momentum -- at Pocono Raceway.

The raceway’s nickname, The Tricky Triangle, comes from its three unique corners, and it proves to be a challenge to NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers each and every trip.

“The straightaways are so long, but you have three distinct corners,” Jeff said. "Trying to get the car balanced to go through those three corners fast is a huge challenge.”

Jeff’s fourth-place finish June 5 at Kansas was his first top-10 since a third-place finish at Talladega in April. But while the finishing positions have not necessarily been indicative of the No. 24 team performance during that stretch, Jeff knows momentum can change quickly.

Prior to Sunday’s race, Jeff’s had four wins, two poles and 16 top-fives at the 2.5-mile Pocono track. How did he do this time? Check out the race results.
