Horizon Vascular Specialists Perform Ground Breaking Procedure

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 19, 2011 – The vascular surgeons at Horizon Vascular Specialists recently performed a ground breaking, minimally invasive surgery on a WWII veteran.

Albert Katoski faced death as a medic in the WWII Battle of the Bulge in 1944. His gallantry earned him a Silver Star. He faced death again in March 2011 when he had a rupture of his chest and abdominal (thoraco-abdominal) aortic aneurysm.

Drs. Jeffrey Wang and Robert Fox of Horizon Vascular Specialists performed an endovascular thoraco-abdominal aneurysm repair at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital to repair this usually fatal condition. Mr. Katoski went home in only 36 hours.
