Thales participates in the Eighth International Rail Forum

Thales, Leader in Spain in transport systems and technology, attended this Eighth International Rail Forum presenting their solutions portfolio for Railway Transport.

This International Rail Forum was also a frame to Thales 60-year-celebration of Railway Solutions in Spain, representing a history of technology innovation, whilst projecting their current solutions towards a future for a sustainable transport.

From the foundation in 1951 of Marconi Spain’s Department of Railway Signaling, to Thales current Transport Signaling & Security Solutions, from the first Centralized Traffic Control System (CTC) installed in Spain in 1954 to the advanced signaling and train safety systems installed on Spanish High Speed Lines, Thales has been a pioneer in the technical evolution of railway Safety Systems in Spain.

A recent Transport White Paper published by the European Union, with the slogan “Transport 2050”, gives rise to a future vision and challenges of transport, and -according to UE suggestions- it also makes us conceive railways as the future solution to many of these challenges, achieving so a future “Sustainable Mobility” that has been set out.
