MILWAUKEE, WI. – May 11, 2011– Paper Machinery Corporation is demonstrating the new PMC 2000S servo-driven paper cup and container forming machine at Interpack processes and packaging exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany May 12 – 18. The PMC 2000S will be forming two-piece paperboard cups from pre-printed blanks at speeds up to 200 CPM.
The PMC 2000S is fully servo-driven offering flexibility and fast changeovers while producing a wide variety of container sizes and shapes and meeting customer demands for a cost-effective forming machine.
Building on the company’s legacy of innovation, the PMC 2000S replaces mechanical drive and cams with servo control at all the forming stages. Independent servo motors control seventeen different axis, which are synchronized with a central motion control platform. A window has been installed on the electric panel of the machine to showcase the servo-drive control technology.
“The servo technology and streamline tool sets allow quick tool changeovers,” stated Scott Eveland, vice president of PMC’s international sales. “Each station on the machine runs a unique electronic cam profile, one that has been optimized to that station’s motion and coordinated with the synchronized operation of the entire machine.” Producers of consumer goods need flexibility in today’s global marketplace. A forming machine must be capable of producing different sizes of cups and containers within short time frames.
In addition to demonstrating the machine in action, PMC’s booth will feature displays of hot and cold drink cups, innovative non-round containers, and award winning packages for a wide range of markets.
