The American Institute of Physics Selects RSuite Content Management System to Modernize Its Publishing Program

WEBWIRE

Audubon, Pa.—April 26, 2011— The American Institute of Physics (AIP) licensed RSuite, a content management system for publishers from Really Strategies, Inc. AIP is a not-for-profit corporation that works to advance and diffuse knowledge of the physical sciences and its applications to human welfare. A pioneer in digital publishing, AIP is also one of the world’s largest publishers of physics journals and produces the publications of more than 25 scientific and engineering societies.

“The American Institute of Physics selected RSuite to manage and store its vast amount of content, including metadata, full-text XML, PDFs, images, and multimedia assets,” stated Evan Owens, AIP’s Chief Information Officer, Publishing. “We see RSuite as a key technology that will allow us to implement industrial strength content management, including version control and automated content distribution, to best support our digital publishing program.”

Prior to RSuite, AIP did not have a content management system and managed its vast amount of content via a combination of home-grown applications and file systems. RSuite will improve AIP’s production workflow, metadata management, usability and delivery of content, which ultimately results in increased revenue. AIP currently has many inbound and outbound content feeds with no central repository that tracks tasks metadata associated with this content. Implementing RSuite allows AIP to create, store, and manage content in a central location. AIP will manage metadata within RSuite, which affords the organization better access to curate its content in a meaningful way.

Of the many reasons AIP selected RSuite, its ease of use and accessibility ranked high. “Really Strategies is honored that The American Institute of Physics has decided to entrust RSuite with their content,” stated Barry Bealer, co-founder and CEO at Really Strategies, Inc. “As a software provider to some of the leading STM and journal publishers, we are thrilled to add the American Institute of Physics to our esteemed customer list.”
