Epson Sales Japan Donates 100 PC and Projector Sets

TOKYO, Japan - Epson today announced that Group companies were continuing to provide donations of money and equipment to support victims of the earthquake that struck the Tohoku area of Japan in March.

Among these, Epson Sales Japan Corporation, the company responsible for domestic sales, has donated 100 sets of PCs and projectors. The equipment will be donated through local authorities throughout the region. As recovery efforts progress, Epson Sales Japan realized that projectors - with their capability to project bright and large images - would be effective tools in assisting with efficient information sharing. The donated PCs also contain terrestrial digital tuners and DVD players. By combining with the projectors, it will become possible to show digital TV programs or movies to large groups, for example to people in evacuation centers.

Other examples of non-financial assistance are as follows:

Support for photo restoration project (managed by Japan Society for Social Service)
Epson is participating in a project to restore and print mud- or water-damaged photographs to their original state
Equipment donations: PCs, scanners, inkjet printers (including large-format printers), ink, paper, etc.

Printing services (managed by Iwate Prefectural Council of Social Welfare)
Epson is providing assistance for printing maps and satellite photos in disaster volunteer centers.
Equipment donations: Large-format printers, ink, roll paper, etc.

Epson hopes that these and other efforts by Group companies worldwide will help support the recovery efforts of those affected by the disaster.
