NCC Automated Systems Moves into Bigger Building

Souderton, PA - On April 11th 2011, NCC Automated Systems, a full service automation system provider, officially moved its headquarters to a 28,844 square foot building located on a 10 acre plot in Franconia Township.

“This is a great milestone in our 25 year history. We are grateful to the customers, partners, and employees that have allowed us to grow our business” said Kevin Mauger, President of NCC Automated Systems. “Our new building better serves our customers, typically large food, consumer goods and optical manufacturers because it allows us to more effectively assemble and test complete production lines before they are shipped to our customers.”

The new building has 25% more square footage than NCC’s previous location in Telford PA. The additional space has been used to create dedicated areas for fabrication, machining, assembly and electrical control panels. The six docking bays enable simultaneous shipping and receiving for multiple projects. A 7.5 ton crane that goes the length of the assembly floor allows large scale equipment to be easily moved.

The larger building has twice the office space as their previous location and accommodates NCC’s growing staff of approximately 35 employees. NCC Automated Systems provides all their services in house through its technical team which has grown by 50% since 2008. Their technical staff is comprised of mechanical and electrical engineers, CAD designers, project managers, electricians, mechanics and commissioning managers. This diverse team allows NCC to handle complex projects from start to finish without outsourcing the work to other firms.

NCC Automated Systems began in 1986 as a custom conveyer equipment provider and has grown into a system integrator that has worked with approximately 80% of the 2010 Fortune 500 companies in their target markets. Current President, Kevin Mauger started at NCC immediately after graduating college in 1994. Since Mauger became president in 2006, sales have doubled and continue to grow.

While automation of food and consumer goods is the bulk of their business, NCC Automated Systems has experienced steady growth in the optical and solar industries. While these industries are not new, there has been a recent push to automate their production processes. According to Mauger “The demand for automation projects is steadily increasing for the Solar and Optical industries. They are looking at automation as a way to reduce labor costs and improve quality. NCC Automated Systems is well positioned to help US based companies save money as long as US labor rates remain higher than global competition”.
