MINNEAPOLIS - Target® Corp. (NYSE: TGT) today announced it will expand its Electronics Trade-In service to include the Nintendo® DS™. In addition to iPhones, iPods, cell phones and video games, Target’s guests can trade in their used, working Nintendo DS at a Target Mobile® center and receive credit to put towards most Target purchases, including the Nintendo 3DS and other recently released electronics such as the Verizon iPhone 4.

“Target always aims to offer guests the hottest brands in electronics for an exceptional value,” said Nik Nayar, vice president of Merchandising, Target. “The Nintendo 3DS is one of the most anticipated new products to debut this spring and by expanding our trade-in options, we are offering Target’s guests incredible savings on all the latest gadgets.”

Target’s newly expanded trade-in service coincides with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS on March 27, which is currently available for pre-order at Target stores or on Target.com. Guests can trade in a Nintendo DS and receive up to $50 to put toward the purchase of a 3DS or any other purchase at Target. For the launch of Nintendo 3DS, Target is featuring Nintendo 3DS trial stations in 1,200 stores nationwide where guests can try the new system and play the latest 3DS games for free. The trial stations offer an opportunity to experience the new 3D technology firsthand, ask questions and receive on-site support from Target’s electronics and gaming specialists.

Target’s Electronics Trade-In service is exclusively offered at Target Mobile locations and on Target.com. Target Mobile centers are currently located in 850 Target stores nationwide and will roll out to 1,490 stores by June 2011.
