Promethean ActivOffice Adds New Level Audience Participation to Microsoft Office PowerPoint® Presentations

New software solution boosts engagement, collaboration and interactivity

Atlanta, GA (March 15, 2011) -- Promethean, a global education technology company, announces today the release of Promethean ActivOffice, a new innovative software solution that adds a range of interactive features to Microsoft Office PowerPoint®.

The program embeds a unique toolbar within the Microsoft PowerPoint® ribbon giving users access to new functionalities, including additional presentation tools as well as the ability to annotate directly on presentations or conduct simple polls or assessments using Promethean Learner Response Systems (ActivExpression, ActiVote and ActivEngage). Using these Promethean ActivOffice features, presenters can reinforce key content, make presentations more memorable, and engage audiences transforming their experience from being passive listeners to engaged participants.

Promethean ActivOffice can be used with or without an ActivBoard. When used with Promethean’s next-generation ActivBoard 500 presenters and participants have the option of pen and/or touch capability and can use the right tool for the right task whether it is zooming, rotating, moving or resizing objects using either finger or pen.

Promethean ActivOffice is available for Windows® Operating Systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7). The program is currently not compatible with MS Office 64x or on Apple® computers. The first release is available in UK and US English only; additional languages will be added based on demand.

Promethean’s award-winning software solution ActivInspire Professional has also recently been updated with added functionality to allow users advanced question management. When using ActivInspire Professional on ActivBoard 500, users can zoom, rotate, move or resize using either finger or pen.
