Food & Music Set To Collide At “Taste The Music” Event

WEBWIRE

Seattle, WA – Local chef challenged to create a ‘culinary cover’ of a song written by an original artist to be savored by ears and palate simultaneously.

On Thursday, April 14th, 7pm at La Spiga in Capitol Hill, Savor the Sound will present “Taste the Music,” a unique and innovative presentation of music as it appears on your plate. The event presents intentional and creative pairings of musical outbursts and delicious delights, anchored by a worthy cause.

La Spiga’s chef extraordinaire Sabrina Tinsley joins Seattle stand-out musician Eric Fridrich to create original tastes and sounds for an orchestrated collision of the senses. Tinsley, a former Iron Chef contestant, will present four distinct courses inspired by Fridrich’s music, while he performs the songs in concert. The plate becomes the stage as you taste every note and savor every sound.

They will be joined by musical guests Marc Fendel (saxophone), Steve Kim (fretless bass) and Swil Kanim (violin). The audience will be treated to the complexities of urban jazz, the genius of Bach, and seasoned with sultry blues and haunting violin finished with fine wines, classy cuisine, gourmet chocolates and beautiful people. Sounds Delicious!
Along with the musical and food presentations, men’s clothing store ROAD will bring an exciting component of fashion into the mix. Styling experts will feature ensembles using the Taste the Music program as inspiration, accenting the show with tailored visual elements.

“Taste the Music” will celebrate the arts and grow the community, while benefitting a youth music education non-profit, Savor the Sound. This Seattle-based organization exists to bring music to where it is needed most - the youth. This is accomplished via programs such as Preschool Jam, The Eric Show Youth Music Scholarship Program and Music Drive – all designed to ‘turn up the volume on music education’. Money raised will directly fund the creation of additional Preschool Jam programs, and provide music education scholarships for local at-risk youth.

21+ Event. Tickets: $60 in advance.
