DirectRooms reveals that an exclusive collection of Moroccan inspired clothes and fashion accessories by French designer Yves Saint Laurent’s is showcasing in Marrakech up until March.

The Tribute Exhibition to Yves Saint Laurent will feature 44 creations by the designer all based on his love of Morocco and the colours and inspirations from the country which are portrayed throughout the work.

The exhibition, which is set in the surroundings of a traditional Moroccan house, showcases Laurent’s interpretation of fashion from the country with his own styling of caftans, head coverings and other clothes from the region. Visitors can also view the intricate Moroccan embroideries found in many of the clothes and the ideas that went into creations used for soft furnishings.

The show is being held within the Jardin Majorelle which was once the garden of French artist Jacques Majorelle and later purchased by Yves Saint Laurent. The event runs from 25th November 2010 to 18th March 2011 and tickets are priced at €3 for the garden and €1.50 for the museum. The popularity of the work from the world famous designer is likely to lead to increased bookings of Marrakech hotels (http://directrooms.com/morocco/hotels/marrakech-hotels/price1.htm) in the area as people head to the city to view the collection.
