* Carbon footprint at the touch of a button
* Strategic consulting on sustainability and energy efficiency
* Energy and environmental management through cloud computing

Deutsche Telekom supports companies on issues of energy management and sustainability, including strategic consulting on sustainability and energy efficiency according to DIN EN 16001, metering of energy consumption and integration of the resulting data in existing applications. These services also include the set-up and operation of an energy and environmental management system. This solution is capable of aggregating and communicating the CO2 emissions of various levels throughout a company at the touch of a button, for example: the power consumption of a branch office, CO2 equivalent of the amount of paper used by a team, or the average per-employee CO2 emissions of a company car. Deutsche Telekom is offering this through a cloud-based solution.

The energy and environmental management system includes comprehensive reporting functions and thus provides the basis of information for strategic sustainability reports. Other significant functions include identification, prioritization, evaluation and management of energy-efficiency measures in the sense of a company-wide sustainability strategy. Deutsche Telekom is cooperating on this solution with the U.S. company Hara (www.hara.com), a leading and the fastest growing provider of energy and environmental management systems.

“The rising cost of energy and the increasing role of sustainability in a company’s enterprise value is shifting the aspect of resource management more and more into the spotlight of corporate management,” said Gabriele Riedmann de Trinidad, responsible for the Energy business area at Deutsche Telekom. “Our solution gives companies a strong management instrument to help them use resources responsibly.”

Deutsche Telekom will be demonstrating its solution together with Hexing from 8 - 10 February at E-world 2011 at stand 7-111 (hall 7).

Deutsche Telekom will offset all CO2 emissions generated by its stand by making additional investments in a climate protection project in Brazil.
