Bayer Helps Those Affected by Floods in Australia
The Company donates Cash and Products of more than EUR 85,000
Leverkusen, – In response to the devastating floods in Queensland, Australia, Bayer is providing immediate relief in the form of financial aid and product donations of more than EUR 85,000.
EUR 75.000 will be made available to the Australian Premier’s Disaster Relief Fund which in partnership with the Red Cross will assist individuals and communities affected by these catastrophic events. Moreover, Bayer provides animal health products up to the value of EUR 10,000. This includes a donation of animal health products and products which shall help to control insects once the water recedes.
Furthermore, the Company is matching the donations currently made by employees of Bayer Australia up to EUR 35,000 to further help the disaster victims.
In addition to these immediate measures, Bayer is currently investigating other projects that could make a long-term contribution to reconstruction in the disaster areas.
Bayer currently employs around 750 people in Australia and operates three production and formulation sites. No employees or facilities belonging to the company have been harmed by the disaster.
