Compact CR-135i Check Transport Expands Canon’s Portfolio of High-Performance Imaging Solutions

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, today launched the imageFORMULA CR-135i High-Volume Check Transport. This new high-performance scanner provides outstanding image quality and exceptional reliability in a convenient design, ideal for any high-volume check processing environment.

The CR-135i allows financial institutions, utilities and other organizations to improve the efficiency of payment processes and treasury management by processing more checks with greater accuracy in a shorter period of time. This can result in faster access to funds, reduced operational costs, and increased ROI.

Featuring duplex scanning, the Canon CR-135i achieves speeds of up to 135 checks per minutei, can handle up to 20,000 items per day, and performs real-time dynamic four-line endorsement. Equipped with a high-capacity, 250-item Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) capable of continuous drop-in batch scanning, the CR-135i check transport also includes two 200-item eject pockets that can be used individually or “waterfalled” for increased capacity. These eject pockets are supplemented with an additional 50-item pocket for three-way sorting.

The CR-135i employs Canon’s proven roller system to achieve exceptional document feeding reliability. It can handle a variety of items, including business and personal checks, thicker items such as rebate check cards and envelopes, and related small documents such as coupons, vouchers and tickets. Should a double-feed occur, the ultrasonic double-feed detector ensures that no data is lost. Also, the CR-135i check transport utilizes MOCR, which complements Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to ensure the highest possible MICR decoding accuracy without sacrificing speed.

By building on Canon’s optical technology expertise, the CR-135i check transport delivers impressive image quality and image processing features, such as Fine Text Filtering, allowing sharper image capture and better OCR accuracy. With an optical resolution of 1200 dpi, small details and other valuable information can be captured and reproduced with exceptional clarity and precision.
