Valletta, MALTA, December 27, 2010 – The Nevada Gaming Commission took an important step in the advancement of legal mobile casino gambling in the state by approving a mobile sports betting application.

Leroy’s App essentially allows residents from Nevada to place sports bets with their mobile devices, as long as they are located in the state. At the moment, approval has been met for the Blackberry version of the app, and one for the Android version is pending approval.

The Leroy Group was able to prove to the Nevada Gaming Commission that the technology could successfully identify whether the punters were physically located in the state or not.

John English, the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Public Affair for American Wagering (Leroy’s parent company) said:

“The approval of the Leroy’s App the creation of a new market segment for sports wagering and I am proud to be a part of its creation here in the United States. The Nevada regulators placed significant challenges on American Wagering to provide a means of offering account wagering on a mobile device whereby we could verify that the bettor was in the state. We rose to the challenge and succeeded.”
