“Tieto and Nokia Siemens Networks are long-term partners, and now we want to intensify our co-operation in the System and Device Management area. With the co-operation, we aim to increase flexibility and this way also our capability to respond quickly and more efficiently to changing business challenges,” says Aki Korhonen, responsible for base station software development in the said area from Nokia Siemens Networks.

“The agreement enables the management of larger entities, which will benefit both parties globally. It is also great to have new top-level experts in our product development. This outsourcing will also strengthen our position as an expert in communications product development business,” says Timo J. Aaltonen, head of Finland’s product development business at Tieto.

The final realization of the outsourcing requires the approval of the Finnish Competition Authority. The outsourcing is expected to happen on 10 January 2011.
