Christmas Fairy Competition

Online lighting superstore Value Lights are hoping to spread a little Christmas cheer this year with their Christmas Fairy Competition on Facebook.

The Christmas Fairy Campaign began back in November on Twitter, when Value Lights began tweeting to customers and industries and also launched promotional codes campaign to reward customers for following them.

Now the Value Lights superstore have now launched a December Christmas Campaign through the popular social networking site Facebook.

The competition is based on Facebook users simply following the Value Lights Facebook page and sending in their favourite Christmas images. Each week throughout December a winner will be chosen, by the Value Lights Christmas fairy, where a prize will then be awarded.

Managing Director David Gutfreund explained “It is the season to be jolly after all, at this time of year thousands of people are out visiting Christmas markets, light displays and ice rinks, why not take a picture and share it with other people”

He continued to discuss about their introduction to social media sites, “Here at Value Lights we wanted to do something nice for our customers this Christmas. We are aware that communication with audiences through social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, are on the rise for companies and we thought this would be a perfect opportunity for us to engage with our customers online.”

The Value Lights Christmas Competition will be running until December 21st 2010, with a Christmas winner being announced each week in December. The campaign is set to give away a prize from the Value Lights website each week, where one lucky winner will receive a ceiling, floor or table lamp.
