EMC Delivers Its First EMC Insignia Solutions for Small and Medium Businesses

EMC Insignia Solutions for Exchange and Data Protection Provide Reliable and Easy-to-Use Ways for SMBs to Safeguard E-mail and Desktop and Laptop Computers

Hopkinton, Mass.-Tuesday, April 18, 2006, Small and medium businesses (SMBs) demand both reliable E-mail and protection of valuable data that resides on desktop and notebook computers. Today EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, announced that it has extended the EMC Insignia line of products with two new fully integrated solutions: EMC Insignia Solution for Exchange and EMC Insignia Solution for Data Protection. Both solutions utilize the new EMC CLARiiON® AX150 and AX150i networked storage systems and EMC Insignia software to meet critical SMB needs.

The EMC Insignia Solution for Exchange provides SMBs with the most efficient managed storage for Microsoft Exchange, including the ability to automate Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 migration and the ability to restore individual E-mail messages, a mailbox or the entire server without requiring extensive expertise or complex manual intervention. The solution combines the fast, reliable CLARiiON AX150 and AX150i networked storage systems (which ensure that data is not lost should a hard drive fail), the automated EMC Storage Administrator for Exchange SMB Edition software and the high performing, convenient EMC Retrospect® for Windows backup and recovery software.

The EMC Insignia Solution for Data Protection capitalizes on the performance of disk to achieve fast, easy-to-manage data protection for all of an SMB’s servers, desktops and laptop computers. By combining the speed and reliability of the CLARiiON AX150 and AX150i networked storage systems with the performance, multiple restore points, and support for most tape drives (including AES-encryption for tapes) of Retrospect for Windows backup and recovery software, an SMB can get data protection capability equal to the value of their data to their business.
