Three Xerox DocuMate Scanners Receive Editor’s Choice Awards from Better Buys for Business

PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced that the Xerox DocuMate® 162, Xerox DocuMate 3640, and Xerox DocuMate 3460 document scanners all received Editor’s Choice Awards in the Better Buys for Business 2011 Scan-to-File Guide, document scanner section, published in November 2010 for good price, strong features, imaging software, excellent document scanning features and affordability.

Awards selections were based on rigorous analysis of all current models. Representing truly “best-in-class” machines, these models are awarded the Better Buys for Business Editor’s Choice Award.

The Xerox DocuMate 162, a small sheetfed scanner designed for the desktop priced at $595, won in the Economy category for its excellent document scanning features. According to the review, “the Xerox DocuMate 162 offers simplex and duplex scanning at speeds up to 25 pages per minute and 50 images per minute. It combines proven technology, good software, fast duplex scanning, and a low cost. It is a very good low-cost document scanner and gets our Editor’s Choice Award.”

The Xerox DocuMate 3640, priced at $1,995, won in the Low-volume Production category for its affordable price. Better Buys for Business commended this midrange document scanner for having “solid features and a low price tag.” The Xerox DocuMate 3640 scans at 40 pages per minute in simplex and 80 images per minute in duplex, includes ultrasonic double feed detection and a legal sized flatbed for scanning large documents.

The Xerox DocuMate 3460, priced at $1,595, won in the Midrange Production category for good price, strong features and strong imaging software. The Xerox DocuMate 3460 scans at a fast 60 pages per minute and 120 images per minute in duplex mode. It has a 50 page automatic document feeder that holds documents as small as 3.5” x 2” and up to 8.5” x 38”.
