Canon U.S.A. Showcases Its First Wireless Digital Radiography System At The 2010 RSNA Annual Meeting

The New Canon REALiS Projector And Latest RadPRO1 Digital Radiography-Fluoroscopy Will Also Be On Display

CHICAGO – Showcasing its nearly 15-year history of digital radiography systems innovation, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will demonstrate its cutting-edge medical and imaging technologies - including the Canon CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography System - to the more than 50,000 medical professionals descending upon McCormick Place during the 2010 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting (November 28 - December 2).

The Canon CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography (DR) System, which recently received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 2, is the Company’s first wireless DR system and features a versatile 14 x 17-inch image area and allows for cable-free image transfer, enabling busy medical practitioners to save time on equipment set-up and spend more time focusing on quality patient care.

Canon CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography System

Weighing less than 8 pounds, the durable CXDI-70C Wireless DR System is easy to handle and has the same dimensions as a standard ISO 4090 film cassette and fits into existing Bucky trays. The 125-micron pixel pitch delivers high resolution images and increased spatial resolution as compared with the Company’s current 160-micron pixel pitch Digital Radiography systems. Depending upon the room in which the CXDI-70C Wireless DR System is used, the power can be managed so potential interference can be reduced and the signal strength may also be calibrated. The CXDI-70C Wireless DR System also incorporates a Cesium Iodide (CsI) scintillator, which delivers high-quality images while reducing the X-ray exposure to the patient.
RadPRO1 D2RS Dynamic/Static Imaging System and Canon CXDI-50RF Dynamic/ Static Digital Radiography System

Offering a unique and highly versatile three-in-one imaging solution, the new RadPRO D2RS Imaging System is a new addition to the RadPRO positioner family of products. Equipped with the Canon CXDI-50RF DR System, this system provides dynamic digital remote-controlled fluoroscopy and radiography imaging capabilities for high-volume facilities. The Canon CXDI-50RF DR System can take up to 30 frames per second (fps) for fluoroscopy imaging, and static multi-frame radiographic imaging at up to 15 fps. Utilizing its detachable cable, the sensor unit can be used in multiple rooms or multiple locations within the same room.

Developed exclusively for use with Canon brand flat panel detectors and along with DICOM4 Modality Work list integration, the state-of-the-art CXDI Control Software NE is an optimized workflow solution that helps to reduce operational steps while supporting multiple study acquisitions, thereby reducing the time it takes to complete an exam from start to finish. With support for high-resolution monitors and three levels of customizable access control, this workflow solution leverages Canon’s outstanding imaging technologies with a streamlined, user-friendly software application.
RadPRO1 40kW Digital Mobile X-ray System and Canon CXDI-55 Digital Radiography Systems Series and CXDI-60 Portable Digital Radiography Systems Series

For a faster, more streamlined approach to DR care, the RadPRO 40kW Digital Mobile System further advances its Digital Radiography application with the ability to be outfitted with a variety of Canon DR systems5, including the new Canon CXDI-70C Wireless DR System with CXDI Control Software NE. Utilizing the new CXDI-70C Wireless DR System, this digital X-ray solution eliminates the customary sensor cable while delivering high-quality images and effortless portability. The RadPRO URS50RF Universal Radiography System is a hybrid Radiographic & Fluoroscopic (R&F) imaging system that features the portable Canon CXDI-50RF Dynamic/Static DR System and utilizes its detachable cable for easy transport between patient rooms. Configured with an 80kW R&F generator, this dynamic, dual-function system is a full-featured Digital Radiography system that can perform several diagnostic and minimally invasive fluoroscopic procedures in a single room, allowing hospitals, clinics and imaging centers to consolidate their R&F functions, resulting in potential savings on equipment and operational costs.

Canon REALiS WUX4000 D LCOS Projector with DICOM Simulation Mode

As Canon’s first high-resolution installation projector for the medical market, the REALiS WUX4000 D LCOS Projector delivers WUXGA-resolution (1920 x 1200) images at 4000 lumens of brightness and includes a DICOM Simulation mode that simulates the results of devices compliant with the DICOM Part 14 standardized display function for display of grayscale images. The projector also employs Canon’s fourth-generation proprietary AISYS-enhanced LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) optical system and interchangeable genuine Canon lenses to deliver crisp, virtually seamless images with intricate detail, brightness, contrast and accurate color.
