The New Canon REALiS Projector And Latest RadPRO1 Digital Radiography-Fluoroscopy Will Also Be On Display

CHICAGO – Showcasing its nearly 15-year history of digital radiography systems innovation, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will demonstrate its cutting-edge medical and imaging technologies - including the Canon CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography System - to the more than 50,000 medical professionals descending upon McCormick Place during the 2010 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting (November 28 - December 2).

The Canon CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography (DR) System, which recently received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 2, is the Company’s first wireless DR system and features a versatile 14 x 17-inch image area and allows for cable-free image transfer, enabling busy medical practitioners to save time on equipment set-up and spend more time focusing on quality patient care.

“Canon maintains a strong legacy of delivering some of the most advanced and practical imaging capabilities to medical and healthcare professionals,” said Tsuneo Imai, senior director and general manager, Medical Systems Division, Canon U.S.A. “During this year’s RSNA Annual Meeting, we are pleased to present the Company’s robust portfolio of digital radiography systems, including our first wireless detector, the CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography System.”

Showcasing its dynamic range of image capture and output technologies, additional products on display at the Canon U.S.A. booth (Lakeside Center, #208) include:
Canon CXDI-70C Wireless Digital Radiography System

Weighing less than 8 pounds, the durable CXDI-70C Wireless DR System is easy to handle and has the same dimensions as a standard ISO 4090 film cassette and fits into existing Bucky trays. The 125-micron pixel pitch delivers high resolution images and increased spatial resolution as compared with the Company’s current 160-micron pixel pitch Digital Radiography systems. Depending upon the room in which the CXDI-70C Wireless DR System is used, the power can be managed so potential interference can be reduced and the signal strength may also be calibrated. The CXDI-70C Wireless DR System also incorporates a Cesium Iodide (CsI) scintillator, which delivers high-quality images while reducing the X-ray exposure to the patient.
RadPRO1 D2RS Dynamic/Static Imaging System and Canon CXDI-50RF Dynamic/ Static Digital Radiography System

Offering a unique and highly versatile three-in-one imaging solution, the new RadPRO D2RS Imaging System is a new addition to the RadPRO positioner family of products. Equipped with the Canon CXDI-50RF DR System, this system provides dynamic digital remote-controlled fluoroscopy and radiography imaging capabilities for high-volume facilities. The Canon CXDI-50RF DR System can take up to 30 frames per second (fps) for fluoroscopy imaging, and static multi-frame radiographic imaging at up to 15 fps. Utilizing its detachable cable, the sensor unit can be used in multiple rooms or multiple locations within the same room.
Canon CXDI Control Software NE3

Developed exclusively for use with Canon brand flat panel detectors and along with DICOM4 Modality Work list integration, the state-of-the-art CXDI Control Software NE is an optimized workflow solution that helps to reduce operational steps while supporting multiple study acquisitions, thereby reducing the time it takes to complete an exam from start to finish. With support for high-resolution monitors and three levels of customizable access control, this workflow solution leverages Canon’s outstanding imaging technologies with a streamlined, user-friendly software application.
RadPRO1 40kW Digital Mobile X-ray System and Canon CXDI-55 Digital Radiography Systems Series and CXDI-60 Portable Digital Radiography Systems Series

For a faster, more streamlined approach to DR care, the RadPRO 40kW Digital Mobile System further advances its Digital Radiography application with the ability to be outfitted with a variety of Canon DR systems5, including the new Canon CXDI-70C Wireless DR System with CXDI Control Software NE. Utilizing the new CXDI-70C Wireless DR System, this digital X-ray solution eliminates the customary sensor cable while delivering high-quality images and effortless portability. Additionally, the RadPRO 40kW Digital Mobile system can be used with the lightweight Canon CXDI-55 DR System Series which offers a 14 x 17-inch imaging area and quick image previews, as well as the compact CXDI-60 DR System Series which provides a space-conscious solution for NICU or pediatric applications.
RadPRO URS (Universal Radiography System) 50RF and Canon CXDI-50RF Dynamic/Static DR System

The RadPRO URS50RF Universal Radiography System is a hybrid Radiographic & Fluoroscopic (R&F) imaging system that features the portable Canon CXDI-50RF Dynamic/Static DR System and utilizes its detachable cable for easy transport between patient rooms. Configured with an 80kW R&F generator, this dynamic, dual-function system is a full-featured Digital Radiography system that can perform several diagnostic and minimally invasive fluoroscopic procedures in a single room, allowing hospitals, clinics and imaging centers to consolidate their R&F functions, resulting in potential savings on equipment and operational costs.
Canon imagePRESS C1+ Digital Printing Solution /CYPHER PS Print Server & PIXMA Pro9500, Pro9000 Mark II Photo Printers

Canon recognizes a critical aspect in today’s healthcare facilities is the ability to produce cost-effective, high-quality prints while keeping up with the fast-paced environment of medical care. Demonstrating its outstanding output capabilities, Canon will also showcase the Canon imagePRESS C1+ Digital Printing Solution/CYPHER PS Print Server as well as the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II and Pro9000 Mark II Photo Printers.

When combined with Virtual Imaging’s CYPHER PS print server and utilized with Canon’s advanced portable and general DR systems and solutions or other modalities, the imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution can produce high-quality paper prints, at up to 1200 x 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi), with outstanding image quality and vibrant colors from any DICOM modality with a Print SCU capability. The ten-color PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II and the eight-color PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Photo Printers are Windows-based photo printers that can be used by medical facilities that print DR, CT and ultrasound images which, when combined with DICOM conversion software, produce helpful documentation for patients, referring physicians, or surgeons for non-diagnostic purposes such as teaching, research and insurance claims.

Although the prints are not intended for diagnostic purposes, these output solutions are specifically designed for print environments that require high levels of accuracy, precision detail and consistency in image reproduction.
