CTA Construction Signs Contract to Build Billerica Elementary School

BILLERICA, MA (Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010)- CTA Construction Co., an experienced builder of schools across Massachusetts, today signed a contract to build the new Parker Elementary School, a $22 million project to replace the existing facility and accommodate 500 students.

The new Parker Elementary School project calls for completing a new 89,000-square-foot facility and demolishing the existing school. The project is participating in the Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools and is scheduled for occupancy in 2012.

CTA signed the contract after winning the competitive bidding process with an offer $350,000 below the next lowest bidder. Prior to bidding, CTA met the town’s prequalification standards meant to demonstrate the capacity of the competing construction companies to complete the project.

CTA is an experienced school builder, with more than 20 completed or ongoing school construction projects across Massachusetts. Those projects include the C.W. Morey Elementary School in Lowell, Tewksbury High School, the Memorial Elementary School in Burlington and the Willard Elementary School in Concord.

In the past 10 years, CTA has completed more than $300 million worth of public construction projects. CTA has earned an average rating of 93 out of 100 by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management, a state agency overseeing public construction contractors.
