The Disability Management Employer Coalition’s (DMEC’s) new Washington (Greater Seattle) chapter took a major step forward when Regence Blue Cross BlueShield and UBC, Inc., became the chapter’s Charter Sponsors in July.

“It was not difficult finding the joint charter sponsors for this chapter,” said Sharon Milligan, DMEC Chapter and Volunteer Liaison. “Both Regence and UBC, Inc., are very active organizations in the absence and disability management community in Greater Seattle, supported the chapter’s development since the first meeting in November of 2009, and will provide excellent tools and resources to the chapter and our members into 2011.”

Explains Karen Wollgast, HR Benefits Consultant at Regence, “Regence has been a member of DMEC since 2003. I’m very excited to have a local chapter resource and network group for the Greater Seattle area. This chapter is such a wonderful wealth of information, expertise and support for IDM efforts.”

“UBC, Inc. is proud to be a 2010 joint charter sponsor for DMEC’s Greater Seattle chapter. The staff at UBC is thrilled to partner with DMEC in the spirit of occupational injury-prevention and in support of our fellow Washingtonians returning to life, work, and wellness,” adds Ryan Guppy, CDMS, Business Development Manager/Vocational Consultant at UBC, Inc.

The Washington (Greater Seattle) chapter provided a full schedule of meetings for 2010 and is completing its 2011 meeting schedule. For more information on all DMEC chapter meetings and events including webinars, visit the DMEC website calendar of events at www.dmec.org.
