Growing Golfwear Firm Featured by U.S. Chamber of Commerce

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently featured the golfwear company Wear to Win, Inc. in its publication “Free Enterprise.” Operating through a nationwide network of Professional Golf Shops and flagshop website located at WearToWin.com, co-founder, Laura Ormson, spoke with the magazine, having been chosen for her entrepreneurial drive in taking a hobby and fashioning it into a fast growing business.

“I was very flattered to have been chosen for the article,” Ormson said. “The publication seemed encouraged by the idea that a 22-year-old college student could start a business, especially in this economic climate. Thankfully I have had a lot of support from my mother and co-founder, Cindy, and my college, Wake Forest University. It goes to show that with a bit of encouragement and focus, dreams can become a reality, even at a young age.”

WearToWin.com has received much recognition since its June website launch, having been honored with various grants and award recognitions, such as the Wake Forest Hobbs Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement for Student and Faculty Entrepreneurs.

“Since our launch, we have been very excited about the attention our WeartoWin.com website has gotten. Having played golf for over a decade now, I knew there was a need for cute, flattering golf skorts, tops and golfwear designed just for young girls, and now, adult women. Apparently, others felt the same way. I am pleased to be able to give women alternative choices that can make them look and feel good, both on and off the course,” Ormson said.
