Bethany Storro Acid Hoax Case -Vancouver Defense Attorney Speaks Out

WEBWIRE

The defense attorney for Bethany Storro, the Vancouver Washington woman charged with three counts of Felony Theft stemming from an acid attack hoax, released the following statement ahead of her scheduled arraignment in Clark County Superior Court.

"I have been retained by Bethany Storro to represent her regarding the pending theft charges. The current charges are three counts of Theft in the 2nd Degree which are Class C Felonies. Ms. Storro is currently receiving professional medical care, and is not in police custody. I will be accompanying and representing Ms. Storro at her Arraignment on Wednesday at 8:45AM before the Honorable John Nichols in Clark County Superior Court. At that time, Ms. Storro will be entering pleas of “Not Guilty” on all counts. Ms. Storro is not considered a flight risk and it is my expectation that she will be assigned Supervised Release. This assignment will involve a brief processing into the Clark County Jail. Following processing Ms. Storro should be allowed to continue her medical care outside of police custody. At Arraignment Judge Nichols will calendar Ms. Storro’s future court appearances and set forth any additional release conditions the Judge sees fit.

There are no plans for future public statements regarding Ms. Storro’s case. It is my job to focus on the criminal representation of Ms. Storro while respecting her wishes for privacy in her continued recovery"
