Southern California Edison Increases Pool Pump Rebate to $300

WEBWIRE

ROSEMEAD, Calif., — Southern California Edison (SCE) has increased the rebate from $200 to $300 for customers who buy a qualified energy-efficient pool pump.

“We hope that the higher rebate will be the extra nudge customers need to upgrade to a more efficient pool pump,” said Gene Rodrigues, SCE’s director, Energy Efficiency and Solar Division. “An energy-efficient pool pump uses just half the electricity as an older model, so in just a short time the new equipment can pay for itself. It’s a win for the consumer and a win for the environment.”

The $300 rebate is offered to SCE customers on qualified pool pumps and motors purchased between Sept. 3 and Dec. 31, 2010, and installed between Sept. 3, 2010 and Feb. 28, 2011. The rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis while funding lasts and is for single-family residences only. After Dec. 31, the rebate will return to $200. Customers can call (800) 436-4777 or visit www.sce.com/rebates to learn more.
