Local Durham Dentist Speaks at First Annual Health Fair

Dr. Alicia Ramos, a reputable Durham Dentist, participated in the first annual Health Fair hosted by the Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill. The school hosted this special event for their own faculty and staff to kick off a new school year, which officially started on August 25.

Trinity School educates students from transitional kindergarten to twelfth grade, offering students organized sports starting at sixth grade. Dr. Ramos presented information about oral-health in connection with whole-body health and emphasized the need and benefits to having their school-aged athletes wear quality professional athletic mouth guards. In addition she and staff gave away free oral health samples and held a drawing for a Sonicare electric toothbrush and a professionally made Play-Safe athletic mouth guard. Dr. Ramos says, “I enjoy serving the Trinity School community to share wellness information that will help the school provide their staff and student body special resources that support their mission.” Dr. Ramos served on the Board of Directors at Trinity School and is now a member of the Advisory Council.

“The uniqueness of the services we offer lies in the wholeness approach we take. We treat you and your mouth as a total person system, not solely a tooth that needs treatment,” according to Dr Ramos who’s passion in dentistry is individualized care for patients, emphasizing patient education to foster true collaboration in achieving optimal health.

Just a few months ago, Dr. Alicia Ramos received the PatientFYI “Award of Excellence” as a result of achieving a highly satisfied patient base. In addition she is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, NC Dental Society, Durham/Orange County Dental Society and the Triangle Chapter of the NC Association of Women Dentists. Currently, she is a member of a Multidisciplinary Study Club and recently completed (along with staff) the Management for Excellence Program at the Schuster Center for Professional Development.
