Imtech strengthens position on Austrian ICT market by acquiring Sapphir

WEBWIRE

Gouda - Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe) is announcing that it has acquired the Austrian ICT specialist Sapphir (Sapphir IT & Consulting GmbH). Sapphir is a SAP consultancy specialist with 20 employees and an annual revenue of 2,5 million euro. The acquisition contributes directly to the revenue per share.

René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: ‘Virtually every modern service or product is equipped with digital information carriers and has innumerable users who share information. As a strong partner of world-market leaders IBM, SAP and Microsoft Imtech can translate these data into valuable information for manufacturers, consumers, authorities and services providers. The acquisition of Sapphir strengthens our position in the ICT market in Austria and to a limited extent in Romania. An excellent basis for further growth.’

Sapphir profile
Sapphir is a specialised SAP consultancy company, founded in 1998, and based in Vienna and Graz (Austria) and Bucharest (Romania). Apart from the SAP consultancy business the company is also providing managed services (including application management and infrastructure management) and SAP products. On the basis of SAP, Sapphir offers all-in-one solutions for administration processes for infrastructure projects of electricity providers, motorway and train operators, etc. For small and medium-sized services providers Sapphir provides SAP based business processes in financial accounting and controlling and industry-specific SAP solutions for sales and project controlling.

Synergy
Sapphir will become part of ILS / Imtech ICT Austria, with 225 employees one of the largest ICT services providers in Austria also active in Eastern Europe. Sapphir is an excellent addition in this respect and also has a substantial complementary customer base. Consequently, cross-selling between customers and sharing SAP services will lead to additional growth. The same applies to the larger scale. Strategically Imtech wishes to expand its business to Romania. From this point of view, the acquisition also offers further opportunities. Finally, higher efficiency - among other things in the areas of housing and administrative organization - leads to substantially lower costs.
