Unique Support Group for Spouses of Alzheimer Patients Celebrates Its Third Anniversary

There are unique issues related to caring for a spouse with Alzheimer’s Disease, and it is those marital relationship concerns that have been successfully addressed for a third straight year by www.thealzheimerspouse.com, the complete source of support, information, and education for spouses of Alzheimer patients.

It was the effort of Joan Gershman, an Alzheimer wife herself, to find support specifically related to marriage and Alzheimer’s Disease that spurred her to launch the Alzheimer Spouse website three years ago. At that time, there were almost no articles, resources, or discussions anywhere, either on the Internet, nor in support groups, about the unique issues faced by spouses of Alzheimer patients - Alzheimer’s Disease related personality changes, irrationality, temper tantrums, lack of reasoning – all issues that turned marriages of love into war zones.
