French Restaurant Houston Bistro des Amis Celebrates Bastille Day

Houston, Texas, U.S.A. – Bistro des Amis, the French restaurant and caterers, is celebrating Bastille Day with a dinner party.

This French National Holiday, officially named in parlance as Fête Nationale, is always celebrated on the 14th of July, commemorating the storming of the Bastille in 1789.

Overtaking the fortress is seen as a symbol of the rising of a new modern nation; and as a reconciliation of the French within the monarchy. It’s the significant power change in French history.

“Being French myself, I want to respect and celebrate important points in my nation, just like my American friends and I do for the fourth of July. You have to know who you are and where you come from” says owner Bernard Cuillier.

This is second year Houston Bistro des Amis has held this party for natives and Americans who want to participate in French culture, food, and wine. “We’ve put together a special lunch and dinner menu for the occasion” Bernard mentions.
