The largest utility company in Spain, Endesa, part of the market-leading pan-European utility company ENEL, has selected Ericsson to operate its entire corporate telecommunication network through a four-year managed services agreement where Ericsson will be the sole services provider for Endesa’s corporate telecommunication network.

The agreement allows Endesa to improve network efficiency and increase focus on its core business as Ericsson takes full responsibility of the daily operation of all services associated with the telecom network; network operations in the network operations center, maintenance, installation services, engineering and construction management.

Ingemar Naeve, Head of Ericsson Spain, comments, “This is a strategic project for Ericsson which permits to extend our successful managed services business model and our world-leading capabilities into the area of operations for other industries, such as enterprises and utilities.”

Endesa is the leading power company in Spain, the largest private electricity utility in Latin America and operates in various European countries and Morocco. Endesa has 23.5 million customers and 24,500 employees worldwide.
