NME.COM Named Consumer Website of the Year at PPA Awards

NME.com – the international music website – today celebrates its second award win in as many weeks after being named Consumer Website of the Year at last night’s Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) gala awards ceremony.

The PPA Awards recognise and reward editorial and publishing excellence, and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the best individuals, publications and brands in the magazine sector.

The IPC Inspire website claimed the top prize against fierce competition, and hot on the heels of their Association of Online Publishers (AOP) award win, which also saw them named Consumer Website of the Year.

The judges said: “A credible effective 360° approach, NME left no stone unturned.” They also praised the site for “demonstrating excellent commercial performance with strong growth and profitability.”

While a performance-boosting redesign for the site in the judging year focussed on increasing usability and a cleaner, more intuitive and inviting interface, an effective ’daily videos’ box was added, as well as partnerships with a range of highly relevant music and ecommerce sites.
