WEBWIRE

Dublin Ireland and New York NY, June 10th 2010: Clavis Technology, a leading provider of on-demand data validation web services for the consumer packaged goods sector (CPG), has announced the appointment of Simon Glass as vice president of business development. Glass brings a wealth of experience in CPG supply chain management to Clavis having worked with industry giants such as The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) (NYSE: PG) and The Gillette Company in the US and Canada.
Clavis Data Services™ and Clavis Data Steward™ provide CPG organizations with data validation and monitoring services based on up-to-date industry standards such as GS1 as well as retailer specific requirements and data quality rules built on business subject matter expertise.
“Simon Glass is a great addition to our team as we expand our presence in the North American market and focus on delivering pluggable data services for organizations in the consumer packaged goods and retail sectors,” said Garry Moroney, chief executive officer at Clavis Technology.
“Having experienced the challenges CPG companies have controlling data quality in the supply chain, I can really see the benefits that Clavis Data Services bring to the table,” said Simon Glass, vice president business development at Clavis Technology. “The ability to easily validate and monitor trading partner data against retailer, sector and country specific requirements, in addition to global GS1 standards, empowers organizations to eliminate data problems that lead to supply chain breakdowns and rework, delay new product introductions and ultimately damage brands.”
Glass joins Clavis from P&G where he was a leader in its Global Data Management organization. In his five years at P&G he managed a number of global business transformation initiatives, such as the establishment of an end-to-end Data Management and Governance program. He was also the leader of P&G’s Global Data Synchronization program and managed P&G Canada’s data management organization.
Prior to P&G Glass worked in Gillette’s Global Value Chain organization and PricewaterhouseCoopers’ management consulting practice in Boston, MA. At Gillette he managed the overall strategy and global roll-out of Global Data Synchronization, and the implementation of a global data quality program. During his eight years at PricewaterhouseCoopers Glass led a number of supply chain process improvement projects and SAP implementations at Fortune 500 companies in the US.
Glass has participated in several consumer packaged goods and supply chain industry initiatives on Data Management. In 2005 he led a Global Commerce Initiative project to illustrate the business benefits of Global Data Synchronization and he was the manufacturer co-chair for the establishment of the GS1 Data Quality Framework. He was P&G’s representative on the 2006 industry report, “Synchronization – The Next Generation of Business Partnering” and he has been a member of the GDSN Inc. advisory group.
