Lamborghini Legend Valentino Balboni enters the Fireball Run

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ORLANDO, Florida– It’s a pairing that can only be described as an exotic car enthusiast’s dream as the Fireball Run Adventurally & It’s Race to Recover Americas Missing Children announces Legendary Lamborghini Test Driver Valentino Balboni is participating in the annual 8 day rally as its honorary Track Chairman.

“In Italian sports car circles, Valentino Balboni is not just a celebrity, but a legend,” says Tom LaPoint, Exotic Car expert. Personally mentored by Automobili Lamborghini’s Ferruccio Lamborghini, Valentino served as test driver for over 40 years, logging more miles in a Lamborghini than anyone in the world.

Even in so-called retirement, Valentino is in demand now more than ever, making only brief public appearances and never remaining with the same group more than two days. “I am always so so busy. This unbelievable marriage between myself and Lamborghini keeps me active nearly every day of the year.” said Valentino “It is a beautiful wonderful thing they [Fireball Run] do for missing children, it is I who is honored they would have me.”

For the first time in his 40 years with Lamborghini, Valentino will be participating in a cross country rally. The invitational Fireball Run Adventurally® is part rally, part game, part race and traverses teams through 18 host cities, over 8 days, and 3500 miles. Headquartered out of Universal Studios Florida, it is an “Amazing Race meets motorsports” live event combining a scripted interactive game with real race track competitions. Along the journey teams raise awareness for missing children, an effort that to date has aided in the recovery of an unprecedented 32 missing kids.

As with all participating teams, Valentino is assigned a missing child to distribute posters for. “the child assigned to Mr. Balboni will gain even more exposure.” said Marc Klaas, CNN Commentator and founder of the Klaas Kids Foundation, the official charity for the Fireball Run. Valentino continued “I hope if nothing more, my name can bring attention to the child I am assigned. It would be a true blessing to be part of the recovery.”

Natalie Zimmerman, Organizer of the Fireball Run, believes the timing was just right. “For years Valentino has wanted to join the Fireball Run, however this year the timing was just right. We are very privileged he would choose our rally and to support our mission to recover Americas Missing Children.”

The festivities start September 23rd in Lake Las Vegas (Nevada), adventuring to Williams (Arizona), Gallup (New Mexico), Lubbock (Texas), Dodge City (Kansas), Chesterfield (Missouri), Cedar Rapids (Iowa), finally finishing in Galena (Illinois).
