Tories Outline Green Plans - Knauf Insulation

Saint Helens, Merseyside, UK – April 18, 2010 – The Conservative Party has made an election pledge in its manifesto to ”make it easier for people to go green” adding that it will offer ”incentives for people to do the right thing.”

While not specifically mentioning the installation of insulation, the Tories stated a vision of a greener country where people’s homes require less energy and announced plans to help homeowners make green improvements to properties.

One way of reducing energy usage is to install insulation, as this helps to trap heat, meaning that it takes less time to heat a home and keep it warm - so heating does not have to be kept on for such long periods of time.

Besides the environmental benefits this brings, homeowners may also notice a reduction in the size of their energy bills if their home is properly insulated.

The party goes on to claim that it has put green issues at “the heart” of its politics.

Labour also made key pledges regarding home energy in its manifesto, stating that financial incentives would be offered to homeowners for insulating their properties.
