Nuremberg, Germany, The Siemens Industry Automation Division has further developed its software controllers with real-time capability for PC-based automation. In addition to expanded Profinet functions for a higher application quality, the new version of Simatic WinAC RTX 2010 and the fail-safe variant WinAC RTX F 2010 have now also been provided with new, simplified diagnostics options. Predefined diagnostics web pages enable the costs for diagnostics to be reduced and plant availability to be increased. The new Profinet functions such as isochronous mode, Shared Device and the Media Redundancy Protocol have been implemented in Simatic WinAC RTX (F) 2010. Web pages for simplified diagnostics have also been integrated. All the Profinet controllers from Siemens are characterized by an identical web server behavior which reduces the user’s overhead for training and application creation. In addition to Windows XP professional and Windows Embedded Standard 2009, Simatic WinAC RTX (F) 2010 has now also been released for Windows 7. The software controller is suitable for the hardware platforms Simatic S7-mEC, IPC427C and HMI IPC477C and for PCs with standard Ethernet chipsets for Profinet IO.
