New version provides automated ingest, video proxy generation, metadata entry and Blu-ray Disc (TM) archive for AVC-Intra (TM), AVCHD (TM), and AVCCAM (TM)

Las Vegas, NV. – April 12, 2010 -- Focus Enhancements (TM), a worldwide leader in media management and digital audio technology, today announced that the ProxSys® MA Media Archive Server series of affordable archive solutions now supports AVC-Intra, AVCHD, and AVCCAM for Panasonic camera owners. ProxSys MA supports Panasonic users who require a simple and affordable way to automatically ingest content, add custom metadata, and archive the content to affordable redundant storage. Quickly finding and retrieving their content is aided by a web browser-based Flash preview that is automatically generated during ingest and remains online with associated native and custom metadata on the ProxSys MA system. The original high-resolution content can be easily retrieved from either Blu-ray Disc or USB HDD’s for immediate use.

“Focus has worked closely with engineers at Panasonic to provide AVC-Intra, AVCHD, and AVCCAM support for Panasonic camera owners,” said Matt McEwen, Director of Product Management for Focus Enhancements. “With the ProxSys MA Media Archive Server, we have provided the simplest means of archiving raw content and quickly retrieving that content at a later date.”

Two versions of the ProxSys MA Media Archive Server are available. Both versions are based on a Windows XP Pro (TM) desktop server with the ProxSys MA application on a Linux virtual machine and feature 1 TB of mirrored RAID internal storage. The standard ProxSys MA-10 features an internal Blu-ray Disc burner and a single license for the ProxSys Media Transfer Utility (TM) for use on the local machine. The ProxSys MA-50 model instead utilizes a robotic Blu-ray burner that allows for automated Blu-ray burning and customizable disc label printing. The MA-50 version also includes two licensed copies of the ProxSys Media Transfer Utility for local or remote (Mac (TM) or Windows (TM)) ingest.

Pricing and Availability
Focus Enhancements will be demonstrating the ProxSys MA series at its booth during NAB 2010 (# SL1705). The ProxSys MA-10 is available through the Focus Enhancements worldwide dealer and distributor network for an MSRP of $6,995. The MA-50 is $13,995. Both are currently shipping.
