LDA completes two land deals at Beam Reach in Rainham

WEBWIRE

The London Development Agency (LDA) has completed two new land deals at Beam Reach 8 - adding to the continued regeneration of Rainham.

The separate deals will see the construction of two new buildings, totalling 60,000 sq ft. The buildings will be developed by the LDA’s development partner Easter Group.

The agreements are with Wincanton Data Records Management and MJF Data Management.

Wincanton Data Records Management has acquired a further 1.17 acres from the LDA to facilitate a 30,000 sq ft new extension to its current building at Beam Reach 8. Construction of the second phase has started on site with handover due this summer. The completed building will total 120,000 sq ft with potential for further expansion up to 150,000 sq ft.

MJF Data Management, a leading UK data storage company, has acquired from the LDA some 1.45 acres to accommodate a new 30,000 sq ft facility. Easter Group expects to start on site at the end of March and be ready for MJF occupation later this year.

Steven Kidd, London Development Agency Head of Development said:

“The London Development Agency is using its land in Rainham to attract new and growing businesses and promote the area’s regeneration. The arrival of MJF and the expansion of the Wincanton facility shows that Beam Reach is an outstanding success story in bringing hundreds of jobs to the area.”

At Beam Reach 8, Easter Group has developed nearly 250,000 sq ft on 11 acres, housing 14 businesses across a range of industries in 23 units.

With these two latest transactions, there remains just ca.5 acres for design & build development in plot sizes of 1 acre upwards where land is available on a long leasehold/virtual freehold basis.

Beam Reach can provide employment opportunities on its two main sites at Beam Reach 5 and 8 which total over 100 acres. At Beam Reach 6, a further 17 acres will provide a range of employment and ancillary uses.
