Company First to Receive Inaugural Award for Excellence in Green IT

FALLS CHURCH, Va., CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced it has won the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s (NVTC) Green Award for creating a positive impact on the region through green practices. CSC’s winning entry represents its commitment to green IT and environmentally responsible programs that have resulted in significant reductions in carbon footprint, energy usage and waste generation. This award directly correlates to the environmental commitment of CSC’s corporate responsibility program.

The NVTC Award recognizes one large and one small technology company, university, or organization in Northern Virginia for their work towards carbon footprint abatement, job creation in the region, energy efficiencies, and renewable power use, among other criteria. CSC was one of three finalists in the large company category, which requires more than $50 million in revenue.

“Our continued efforts to reduce our environmental footprint are key to the sustainability of our business,” said Susan Pullin, CSC vice president corporate responsibility and analyst relations. “Around the globe, CSC has made multiple investments both internally and with our clients to reduce our carbon footprint through Green technologies. For us it is part of how we do business in the 21st century, and is a key component of what we can deliver to our clients through our comprehensive suite of Green IT services.”

The awards were presented at the NVTC Annual Banquet at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector line of business accepted the award on behalf of CSC.
