Extended warranty program for recreational marine customers will provide added protection.

Waterloo, Iowa . — John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) is pleased to announce a revised free extended warranty program for recreational marine customers. The recreational yacht extended warranty program will offer eligible marine customers a 5-year/2,000-hour extended warranty at no additional cost.

This program, available worldwide through John Deere engine distributors, their respective marine dealers, OEM boat builders and OEM boat dealers, is applicable to new propulsion engines installed in newly constructed or repowered vessels.

The JDPS free extended warranty program is only valid for engines installed in non-revenue-generating recreational applications. New JDPS marine engines used in non-revenue-generating applications are eligible for both the free standard and the extended warranty programs.

“Our marine engines continue to build upon John Deere’s strong reputation of performance, durability and reliability because we’re committed to ensuring our marine customers experience the same confidence in their engines that our agricultural and construction customers have enjoyed for decades,” said Dave Flaherty, marine marketing manager for John Deere Power Systems. “We believe that our free 5-year/2,000-hour extended warranty will provide our recreational marine customers with additional value and years of worry-free cruising.”
Warranty details:

* The recreational yacht extended warranty program is intended for vessels that are owned by individuals and used strictly for personal recreation. Recreational vessels used for chartering, touring or ferrying passengers — where passengers are charged a boarding fee — are not eligible for the program.

* The warranty covers John Deere marine engine components, electronic control unit (ECU) and John Deere-supplied accessories. Maintenance and third-party parts are not covered under the extended warranty program.

* Engine installation and performance must be consistent with John Deere’s application guidelines, and verified by sea trial. The engine must be operated within its intended duty profile with a correctly sized propeller, and customers are required to perform scheduled maintenance.

Extended warranties up to 5 years are also available for commercial applications worldwide; conditions apply. For more information, contact the John Deere Power Systems distributor or marine engine dealer that serves your area.
