Town Fair Tire World of Wheels Back at Bayside in 2010

BOSTON – The thirty-sixth annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels (www.worldofwheels.com) will be back at Bayside Expo Center in Boston in 2010 with new dates, March 12-14.

“A March show gives us warmer weather and much less chance of snow, offering custom car owners and spectators a more pleasant show experience,” says local show chairman Dick Royer of Slatersville, R.I.

“The new dates eliminate our competition with football playoff games for the attention of potential spectators,“ he adds, ”and by March, everyone around here is thinking spring, so now the Town Fair Tire World of Wheels will be an indoor kickoff for the outdoor show car season.”

The Town Fair Tire World of Wheels was the first show at the Bayside Expo Center when the building opened in January 1983 and has been there ever since. Bayside Expo Center also recently acquired a new management company, Ballantine Management Group of Virginia.

“All of the hundreds of local custom car owners who exhibit at the Town Fair Tire World of Wheels and the tens of thousands of spectators who return year after year for the show have become very accustomed to the Bayside Expo Center,” Royer says.

The International Show Car Association annual custom car competition, in which the Town Fair Tire World of Wheels takes part, also recently signed a new sponsor and became the Summit Racing Equipment Show Car Series.

“The new series sponsor is as tremendously excited as we all are about the new feature sections being added to the 2010 Town Fair Tire World of Wheels,” Royer says.

Among those new feature sections will be Motorama, which will introduce to the show traditional rods and customs not seen at any other shows in the Boston area, as well as Drag City USA, which will bring to the show ’60s-era dragsters from Garlits, Kalitta and Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.
