MEC appoints Sumitra Balakrishnan

Mediaedge:cia (MEC), a leading media agency (www.mecglobal.com), has appointed Sumitra Balakrishnan as Activation Director on Search for Global Solutions, the agency’s team of international media specialists.

Balakrishnan joins MEC from Mindshare Worldwide where she most recently helped establish Zurich as a new global search account. She will be working across the agency’s Global Solutions clients which include Paramount, Activision Blizzard, Colgate Palmolive and Sony Ericsson. Balakrishnan will report into Matt Adams, Head of Activation, Global Solutions and work closely with Rogier Croes, Head of Search EMEA.

Balakrishnan started her career at Esearchvision in France and has since worked at Atlas Solutions, Neo@Ogilvy and Performics working across both pay per click and search engine optimisation. Her previous clients include IBM, Sony, Lovefilm, HSBC Private Bank, Visit Scotland, Blackberry, Volvo and Zurich.
