TYLER, Tex. – During current economic times, and as refiners globally face the challenge of the world’s crude oil and gas supplies becoming increasingly more sour, the significance of capital costs, reliability, and environmental performance of Sulfur Recovery Units (SRU) at new and existing refineries and gas processing plants grows in importance. GAA has experienced high levels of interest in its proprietary technologies for sulfur removal to decrease harmful emissions to the atmosphere including COPE® and D’GAASS®. The COPE technology helps increase capacity of an SRU at a fraction of the cost of building a new SRU. D’GAASS is a leading sulfur degassing technology that can reduce the dangerous H2S content in liquid sulfur to below 10 ppmw, making it safe for storage, loading and transport for use in the manufacture of products such as sulfuric acid and fertilizers. The D’GAASS technology has over 75 licenses and installations in its brief 13-year history, and has been adopted at some of the largest sulfur recovery facilities in the world.

• Sulphur 2009 International Conference and Exhibition, Vancouver, Canada; 8-11 November – Experts will host a booth to discuss SRUs, sulfur degassing, sulfuric acid and oxygen enrichment technologies.
