Viewers to Get Live Broadcasts Over Internet Connections Beginning With Yankees-Mariners Night Game on Aug. 14

NEW YORK – The YES Network and Verizon are teaming up to bring eligible FiOS TV and broadband customers the opportunity to view live New York Yankees baseball games online beginning with the Friday (Aug. 14) Yankees-Mariners game on YES at 10 p.m.

As part of a multiyear agreement between Verizon and the YES Network, Verizon Internet customers who subscribe to FiOS TV and also are receiving the YES Network in-market programming as part of their TV package will be able to buy access to live, streaming coverage of Yankees games throughout the remainder of the 2009 regular season. The high-definition, online broadcasts are being offered as a package of either all the YES Yankees games through the remainder of the season for a one-time price of $29.95 or a 30-day schedule between now and the remainder of the season for $19.95.

In-market YES Network programming is available to FiOS TV customers in the New York City metropolitan area, upstate New York and portions of New Jersey.

“This broadband offering provides Verizon customers with unprecedented convenience and portability,” said Ray Hopkins, COO, theYES Network. “It comes on the heels of our agreement with Verizon earlier this year, enabling Verizon FiOS TV customers to watch our Yankees telecasts and other Emmy Award-winning YES programming on demand. This is another example of our utilizing new platforms in order to bring Yankees fans closer than ever to their favorite team and players.”

Terry Denson, Verizon vice president of FiOS TV content and programming, said the agreement with the YES Network further illustrates Verizon’s focus on bringing information and entertainment to its customers, through various technologies.

“In addition, for those FiOS TV customers in the YES Network market who also qualify for Verizon’s recently launched broadband Wi-Fi service, this partnership will allow them to watch the live games at hot spots in coffee shops, bookstores, hotels and other public areas within the YES in-market footprint,” Denson said.

Qualifying FiOS customers can subscribe to the online games at Yankees.com, YESNetwork.com and Verizon.net/YES, where additional information about the programming also is available.

The YES Network, the most-watched regional sports network in the nation the past six years, and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) reached a multiyear agreement earlier this year paving the way for YES to launch in-market streaming of its Yankees telecasts in partnership with its affiliates.

The YES Network features exclusive telecasts of the 26-time World Champion New York Yankees and the New Jersey Nets, Emmy Award-winning biography, interview and magazine programs, as well as college football and basketball games. The network also presents a live daily simulcast of WFAN’s highly rated Mike’D Up: Francesa on the FAN show. Further YES Network information can be found at www.yesnetwork.com.
