Ortindo Image Centre First in Southeast Asia to Bring Kodak’s High-Impact Dimensional Printing to Customers

Rochester, NY.- Marketers throughout Southeast Asia now have a new way to make their digitally printed communications stand out and get attention: Dimensional Printing from Kodak. Ortindo Image Centre in Jogyakarta, Indonesia, is the first commercial printer in the region to offer this unique capability with the installation of a new KODAK NEXPRESS S2500 Digital Production Color Press. KODAK Dimensional Printing was recently awarded a 2009 InterTech Technology Award, the highest honor for innovation in the graphic communications industry.

“We originally decided to add a digital press primarily because we were seeing more jobs with shorter run lengths and faster turnaround times,” said Johanes Rudyanto, Owner and Managing Director, Ortindo Image Centre. “Once we learned about the Dimensional Printing and glossing capabilities from Kodak, we realized that the NEXPRESS Press would open up many other opportunities for us to offer new services and grow our business.”

Ortindo produces a variety of print materials, from books to magazines to brochures. Its clients include companies in the hospitality industry as well as publishing houses, among them, Hyatt Hotel and Kanisius, the largest publisher in Central Java, Indonesia.

Available as part of the KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions, Dimensional Printing gives specified text and images a raised or 3D effect. The result is a printed piece with a dimensional feel that mimics the surface of the items in the image. Dimensional Printing can also place standout borders and other eye-catching features to printed materials.

KODAK NEXPRESS Intelligent Dimensional Coating Solution and KODAK NEXPRESS Dimensional Clear Dry Ink combine to create the Dimensional Printing effects. Dimensional Printing is well suited for a variety of markets, including the commercial printing and photo products markets.

To extend the type of applications it can produce and enhance the image quality of jobs run on its NEXPRESS S2500 Press, Ortindo also added the KODAK NEXPRESS Glossing Unit.
